Risata and the Revolving World

Blogging is one of those things that I tell myself that I am going to do, but tend to find reasons to put it off.  Well, I'm not procrastinating any longer.  The reason I even started this blog was as a outlet for my writing.  It doesn't matter if no one reads it because I am writing it for me.  That being said...on to my topic of the day.  My latest wine adventure...the Monteluce Winery in Dahlonega, GA.

I visited Monteluce this weekend with some friends and was blown away.  Monteluce is nestled in Lumpkin County which according to the vineyard has a long growing season that creates a climate well-suited for premium wine grape cultivation.  A drive down winding roads lead you past idyllic Tuscan style buildings until you arrive at vineyard's restaurant and tasting room which overlook rolling hills of grape vines.  We sampled their wines in the tasting room and then settled on a bottle of Risata and took it out on the terrace to enjoy the scenery.  It was a perfect day.

I enjoyed the experience and the wine so much that I wanted to see if I could purchase more of the Risata online.  The winery had this quote on their website and I thought it was fitting.

The sun, with all those planets revolving around it and dependent upon it, can still ripen a bunch of grapes as if it had nothing else in the world to do.-Galileo 1564-1642

It reminded me that there are things in life that are much bigger than me.  This whole world of nature is going on around me and it has nothing to do with all the unimportant things that I let weigh me down.  Watching how the sun ripens the grapes that becomes the wine that I drink, gives me comfort.  Although things may seem rocky at times and life might not be going exactly the way I planned, I know that life is going to go on regardless.  I am just one part of a greater whole.  My world is not going to end just because things didn't happen the way I wanted them to.  There are amazing things revolving all around me and all I have to do is be apart of them.
